Short-Term Running Goals: Okay, so for 2013 I am going to have FUN! Not that running isn't always fun, but I had a wonderful breakthrough year last year and I want to play this year :) AND get faster! So, my first goal I'm going to put out there is my yearly mileage goal. It is 2,186 miles from my driveway to my sister (QP's) driveway! I want to spend this year on a virtual trek cross country running those miles. So, that is how far I will run in 2013...from my house to QPs. It will take all year and yes, this is measured on Hwys so it isn't really exactly how I COULD run it, but good enough. 43 miles/week...totally doable, and a fun goal to track how far I've traveled as I go along. Who knows...maybe I'll even run PAST her house :) I will do more trail runs, Boston, Pacing duties, another Half IM and some other tris. I'm excited for this next year and look forward to having fun with all of you out on the roads, and trails! Maybe bag a few peaks this year too!!
Long-Term Running Goals:
Big Dreams: 5K in 20:2X; 10K in 39:XX; Half in 1:29:XX; Full in 3:15:XX; complete the Rim2Rim2Rim run and not die; Comrades; Iron(wo)Man.
Run for the rest of my life!
Personal: 4 children: twelve, eight, five and baby Fartlek - 2 1/2. Wonderful supportive husband that lets me drag him and the family all over for race after race!
Finished 13 marathons and LOVE running that distance! I'm definitely hooked to the marathon monster and hope to constantly improve my endurance, speed and stay injury free! I've also found a love of trail running! I hope to keep improving on this front. After being injured with a broken foot at the first of 2012 I found a tri group and started training with them and am now loving tris! The half IM was harder than I'd ever imagined...and am ready to do it again. I'll earn my bike butt and someday have enough time to train for a full IM. Favorite Blogs: |

| | Boxing with Lina and she had us do SO much running I'm calling it a good mile.
back to my TM incline...
1 mile @6% and 5.2mph
1 mile @4% and 6.0mph
1 mile @3% and 6.5mph
1 mile @3-2% (decrease every quarter after the first 1/2 mile) and 6.5-8mph gotta hit that speedy finish.
leg is slightly achy. Iced and stretched. Getting tired of it...

| | 6AM Cyle's boxing with Craig. He had us do about 5 billion push ups in all different forms. Holy crud he kicks my trash!
9:15 back to Cyle's class. Another good sweat fest, but this time it was core instead of push-ups.
Becca then joined me for a traipse through Shaggy Mountain. I love running with that girl! I miss her like crazy when she goes. There are just some people you click with and can be 100% real with no pretense and they love you all the same. You AND your crazy, better yet they understand it and support it :) thanks for always being there for me girl!! 9 miles with a low 9AP with all the climbing. I chickened out on some hills and walked instead of pushing the run. I need more mental resolve!
Nothing in the PM, family Christmas party.

| | I haven't done back to back road runs because of my stupid leg for a couple weeks, but I couldn't give up my Traditional Christmas Eve run! Kim always hosts and does an incredible job! This year there were 40ish people?? The guy is a celebrity! Or maybe it is his wife's cooking :) I had to start slowly to warm up my stupid leg so I hobbled along with Toby as every one else busted a move ahead. I feel so slow lately. I see posts with speed and tempo miles and I'm grateful to run IN pain. Yeah, anyway....we made it the 2.5 up the canyon to the pump house and then turned and ran down. I thought Toby was right with me, but with about a mile left I realized she wasn't. I kept chatting with Melissa racing down the canyon and luckily hit the bottom and and the re-group. Then I just hung with Toby the rest of the way to Kim's. It was plenty fast for me and my broken self. We did do a bonus loop to get an even 10! A quick picture and we both took off for appointments and didn't have much time to hang.
I got to boxing class in time to get credit for it. I love it, but I can't wait until this blasted contest is over and I don't feel like I HAVE to go to every class! Lena did an awesome workout and got me ready to endure the holidays!

| | No running for me on Christmas. I could make the time, but I like the lazy, cozy, family day!

| | No running. I think I need some more time for this blasted leg. Sigh. I feel like all my plans for the year that isn't even here yet are just slipping through my fingers. Sigh.
2 hour endurance ride at the kickr lab. I seriously LOVE that place!! A nice sweat fest for sure. 57 miles and 96 avg candence. Mileage isn't accurate, but as long as it is consistent I can use it as a comparison.
9:15 boxing with Nick, a new teacher. Great teacher, but he needs to give us more. Too much standing around in class. He will get the hang of it and have us begging for mercy soon enough.
10:15 yoga. Much better class than last week. I hope this trend of improving each week continues.
days I don't run (despite 4 hours of working out) I feel like a slug and like I didn't do anything. This is Rachel's whine post...whine, whine, whine. Time off SUCKS!!!!

| | Again trying to ease off the leg...I hope I get back to running soon, it is starting to get to me. Okay, starting is an understatement.
I did set a PR today though. I did 5.68 miles! It may have taken me 4:15:30 to finish it and it may have been in the pool, but this is the longest swim I have ever done in my life! 100 X 100yds or 200 laps (of 50yds, so down and back is one). To do it and realize that I haven't been in the pool for 6 months, well, I'll take it. I'll now have my name in lights on the swim scoreboard of the JL Rec center for the next month.
Lauren came with me. She finished last year and this year. When I was done the first thing she said to me was "I finished an hour ago" little turd! She certainly is a good swimmer. I told her we would rematch next week at the revolution run :)
My arms are sore...so sore. My butt is sore from Friday, so I'm pretty much a staggering and hobbling broken lady. HA! I love it :)
