Short-Term Running Goals:

Okay, so for 2013 I am going to have FUN! Not that running isn't always fun, but I had a wonderful breakthrough year last year and I want to play this year :) AND get faster! So, my first goal I'm going to put out there is my yearly mileage goal.
It is 2,186 miles from my driveway to my sister (QP's) driveway! I want to spend this year on a virtual trek cross country running those miles. So, that is how far I will run in 2013...from my house to QPs. It will take all year and yes, this is measured on Hwys so it isn't really exactly how I COULD run it, but good enough. 43 miles/week...totally doable, and a fun goal to track how far I've traveled as I go along. Who knows...maybe I'll even run PAST her house :)

I will do more trail runs, Boston, Pacing duties, another Half IM and some other tris. I'm excited for this next year and look forward to having fun with all of you out on the roads, and trails! Maybe bag a few peaks this year too!!

Long-Term Running Goals:

Big Dreams: 5K in 20:2X; 10K in 39:XX; Half in 1:29:XX; Full in 3:15:XX; complete the Rim2Rim2Rim run and not die; Comrades; Iron(wo)Man.

Run for the rest of my life!

Personal:

4 children: twelve, eight, five and baby Fartlek - 2 1/2. Wonderful supportive husband that lets me drag him and the family all over for race after race!

Finished 13 marathons and LOVE running that distance! I'm definitely hooked to the marathon monster and hope to constantly improve my endurance, speed and stay injury free!

I've also found a love of trail running! I hope to keep improving on this front.

After being injured with a broken foot at the first of 2012 I found a tri group and started training with them and am now loving tris! The half IM was harder than I'd ever imagined...and am ready to do it again. I'll earn my bike butt and someday have enough time to train for a full IM.

Since my 'work' is suspended from school and I had to start this morning at 9 I had no option but to get up early if I wanted to get a workout in. I wanted to do a spin class, so I went at 5:30 and did the spin class. It was okay, not great, but okay.

Went out to the TM and decided I deserved a fast downhill run. So, I started at -1% at 7:30 pace. Oh, how I love downhill!! SO effortless. Mile 2 @ -2%; 7:19 - mile 3@ -3%; 7:08 - mile 4@ -3%; 6:58 - mile 5@ -2%; 7:13 - mile 6@ -1%; 7:30, but progressive the last 1/2 with increasing pace every tenth to finish at 6:58.

TT: 43:40 AP: 7:16

Walked a cool down 1/2 mile to finish out my time so I wouldn't conflict with shower schedules at home, but decided afterward I still felt good and fresh and shoul've just finished another mile or two. I could've done 2 more in the time and still felt okay. Crap, oh well.

Now, off to a fun filled day of entertainment for a little stinker that is suspended from school - well, not too much entertainment, I'm supposed to be making her life miserable :)

Aren't kids great? :) Way to cruise those downhills.

suspension does not sound good....

None of my kids have been suspended yet. Here's to hoping it stays that way. haha

You got it done today girly. Hey are you going in the morning? I am thinking about it but still unsure.

Scott, yes - kids are fabulous. At least her suspension is helping my Christmas money fund :)

Lily, thankfully it is not MY kid. She is my 'work' - literally. I work with foster children with disabilities. Honestly, like a glorified baby sitter. If it was my kid - heads would be rolling!!!

Not sure about Saturday's run. I'm in a bit of a conundrum. Kids stuff and running and life. We'll see what happens, but I'd like to join the crowd!

Nice work!! Wow you were smoking fast and after a spin class? you are a complete inspiration to me.

HEY I want a TM that goes downhill!!!!!! BLAH!!! If I had a TM that went downhill I would be so running downhill all the time...so probably a good thing for me!! ;D. Way to go girl. Starting out at 7:30 pace is something to talk about!!!

From Bec on Fri, Dec 16, 2011 at 17:34:17 from 71.199.9.12

We planning tomorrow at 10? Want to go to the JRP with Smooth and the girls at 8? Don't know if you have plans or what. Pretty sure I will be able to drive out there, don't know...Have my mom's beast car.

From Smooth on Fri, Dec 16, 2011 at 17:41:26 from 174.27.214.60

RAD ~ Please please come join us tomorrow!

We will have so much fun! :)

From Smooth on Fri, Dec 16, 2011 at 17:42:52 from 174.27.214.60

Bec ~ Karen and I are taking separate cars. So one of us can give you a ride easily. :)

Devine - legs a moving fast, smooth, power, what a feeling. Nice Brick, legs still worked after the bike.

Stay Kool, B of BS rools out

From RAD on Sat, Dec 17, 2011 at 00:10:20 from 98.202.23.178

Rachelle, I was only fast because of the decline!

Julie, starting at a 7:30 is easy on a decline. I usually can't breathe easily there, but even at the 6:58 I could breath/sing along with the ipod. You would LOVE the decline TM's, but they do make it easy to cheat :)

Becca, Can't wait to see you!!!

Smooth, I just can't swing 8AM with kids stuff tomorrow. Can we do Christmas Eve on the JRP in Lehi?!? No Jr Jazz to contend with that day, so time isn't too big of a deal - just not too late in the day.

Brent, I loved doing the brick! Just enough time between the two to get legs back before jumping on the TM - NOTHING like a real tri with jello legs!
