Short-Term Running Goals:

Okay, so for 2013 I am going to have FUN! Not that running isn't always fun, but I had a wonderful breakthrough year last year and I want to play this year :) AND get faster! So, my first goal I'm going to put out there is my yearly mileage goal.
It is 2,186 miles from my driveway to my sister (QP's) driveway! I want to spend this year on a virtual trek cross country running those miles. So, that is how far I will run in 2013...from my house to QPs. It will take all year and yes, this is measured on Hwys so it isn't really exactly how I COULD run it, but good enough. 43 miles/week...totally doable, and a fun goal to track how far I've traveled as I go along. Who knows...maybe I'll even run PAST her house :)

I will do more trail runs, Boston, Pacing duties, another Half IM and some other tris. I'm excited for this next year and look forward to having fun with all of you out on the roads, and trails! Maybe bag a few peaks this year too!!

Long-Term Running Goals:

Big Dreams: 5K in 20:2X; 10K in 39:XX; Half in 1:29:XX; Full in 3:15:XX; complete the Rim2Rim2Rim run and not die; Comrades; Iron(wo)Man.

Run for the rest of my life!

Personal:

4 children: twelve, eight, five and baby Fartlek - 2 1/2. Wonderful supportive husband that lets me drag him and the family all over for race after race!

Finished 13 marathons and LOVE running that distance! I'm definitely hooked to the marathon monster and hope to constantly improve my endurance, speed and stay injury free!

I've also found a love of trail running! I hope to keep improving on this front.

After being injured with a broken foot at the first of 2012 I found a tri group and started training with them and am now loving tris! The half IM was harder than I'd ever imagined...and am ready to do it again. I'll earn my bike butt and someday have enough time to train for a full IM.

Honestly, a horrible night. I went to bed and my last words to my husband were "I just want to sleep tonight." Famous last words. I don't know what the hey was wrong, but an hour after falling asleep my baby wakes up SCREAMING and wouldn't stop no matter what we did for about 30-45 minutes. He was not happy. I finally took him out on the front porch swing (he's always loved being outside) and he settled down. It still took another 30ish minutes to get him to sleep, but by then I had a whopping 3 hours to sleep before the alarm went off. Then it was the restless sleep I've had the last week anyway. *sigh* Needless to say, I'm tired.

Had a nice easy 3 mile warm-up with the BBK's and a great chat with Lisa. What an amazing woman. Then we did a 1/3 mile warm-up for the workout....okay, just ran to the start. We did 4  one mile repeats - 1st all uphill, 2nd down then up, 3rd all down, 4th up then down. I think I really only hit good paces on the downhills, but being so tired I was just glad my legs were moving faster than a 9mm pace! Did one cool down with Julie, one of my fav BBKers, then headed home for a quick nap before starting work.

AP: 8:42 splits: 9:38, 9:04, 9:27, 8:22, 8:11, 8:31, 7:15 (3/4 of this mile was the downhill repeat...like I said, only on the downhills), 9:08, 8:07, 9:14 - So, my miles didn't fall on the mile splits exactly, but I'm sure you can tell where the effort was. Kind of proud of that 7:15...meant that the full mile may have been below a 7:00

Boot camp was cancelled this morning (sick teacher) so I came home and did The Shred level 2. It's no boot camp, but a great alternative - especially for a 20 min quickie.

What's the over/under on how long it will take Burt to come up with something clever to say about "20 minute quickie"?

From Kelli on Tue, Aug 09, 2011 at 15:15:00 from 71.219.67.82

All that drive for a canceled class??? Do they not have substitutes???

Hope you get a nap today!

Once again- Caffeine :)

You are hardcore! I would have slept in for sure. Awesome that you got up and did 10 miles on so little sleep.

Hope you get a nap today.

Kam, I had to laugh when I proofed it, wondered who would be the first to comment :)

Kelli, oh no. This is the boot camp I do at my church on Tuesdays. The drive was on the way home. I would've spit nails had it been at Lifetime!

Scott, I'm such a horrible person about caffeine. I hate what it does to my brain about 4-6 hrs after consuming (I get REALLY ornery and short tempered). I guess I'm just in a good training mode...and hoping I can sleep in tomorrow.

I'm amazed at your determination. I'm pretty sure that most people given the lack of sleep would have slept in!! You are amazing, don't forget it!!

I was so tired, I missed the 20 minute quickie!

From Nancy on Wed, Aug 10, 2011 at 07:42:53 from 76.23.21.118

I hope you got more sleep last night. It was good to see you at running group even if you should have slept in.

Sorry you didn't sleep well. Hope fartlek is feeling better. I love the fast paces, doesn't matter if it's downhill or not :-)

And the 20 min quickie is always good. I did mine today before I'd even seen your blog. Awesome girls think alike!!

I love what Diet Coke does to me. Gets my heart beating, gives me the shakes and then a few hours later I crash. Good old fashion fun if you ask me.

I can't believe that you got up and did that after your horrid night. Oh to be young again.

Say hi to Julie and Michelle for me.

From RAD on Wed, Aug 10, 2011 at 19:56:18 from 76.27.16.189

Carina, working daily on remembering to think positive :)

Kelli, *that's what she said* :)

Nancy, gotta get it in sometime and I'd rather run with company.

QP, yes, yes we do!

Scott, I don't mind it so much as all the people that have to live with me mind it. I'm just being considerate of them.

Carolyn, I'm feeling awfully old after that!

Burt, Julie I will, but I haven't seen Michelle in a while.
