5 miles @ 9:18/mi Cascade route. Aside from the scare with my right knee a couple of weeks ago, so far my body's handling my return to running pretty well...knock on wood. I'm feeling a little arthritis like pain in my right hip, but it's not bad (yet?). In the past my hip hasn't bothered me until after 10+ miles, so we'll have to see when I work up to that distance. The best news is that I haven't felt any of the sciatic pain that was bothering me so much. I really think stretching and the Curcumin supplements my boss recommended have helped. I'm trying to be prudent as I ease back into running, but it's nice to start feeling like I want to push a little longer or faster/or more miles per week. Today I just pushed a little faster and ran 9:18/mi instead of 9:30/mi. It's not much, and it's much slower than I was not so long go, but it's progress. I'll take it. |
