Today was a odd run. My knee was a sore so I ran easy for 8 miles and then all of a sudden it quit hurting all together....so then I ran fast! No pain whatsoever during the fast miles and even after for a couple of hours then the cycle started to repeat. Now my knee is sore again. I don't know much about how to determine exactly what the pain is but I believe it's a floating bone spur. When it get in the right position I can't feel it at all and then when it floats in the wrong spot it hurts. When I quit running, hours after, it starts to get sore from the grinding it did while i ran. It feels alot like the last time I had a floating bone spur. That's my self diagnosis... :-)

No HR information as the monitor wasn't working but I know I was pushing it he last 4 miles! I could not have kept up the pace much longer.

I have no idea where I am in my training and condition right now. I really need to run a 20 miler to figure that out but I'm not sure what that will do to my knee.

It took 8 miles for your knee to stop hurting?!! You are more patient than me, brother! I would have wimped out way earlier.

If you really want to know the truth, I walked on a few of the first miles. That's why they are so slow.

btw...how are you feeling?

Great finish to the run. If it's a bone spur again, I hope the thing disintegrates sooner this time.

My fever broke last night. Now, I'm just left with the nasty chest and nose stuff. I called the folks at the Louisana Marathon yesterday. They will consider deferring my entry to next year, even though I was inside 14 days of raceday. We'll see how that goes.

From I Just Run on Sun, Jan 20, 2013 at 17:24:52 from 166.137.119.34

Maybe I'll come over and run it next year :-)

Sure, Why not? It's flat as a pancake! and the reviews coming in on Facebook about the post race party are very positive.

IJR ... Wow ... you smoked that last 4 miles! Bummer on the knee ... wish I had some advice for ya, but I am not qualified to offer any! With that said, I would steer clear of OKC this year assuming you run Cowtown ... running marathons 2 months apart is not wise, and there is not time to train and adapt for an improvement in time anyway, for people with any injury battles.

Bummer about the knee problem again. Nice pace on those last 4 miles.
