Tempo Run today. My goal was to run the exact same route I ran on my previous RLRF training for Cowtown and compare the results. The weather was much cooler then (40 degrees) compared to 72 today. My Cowtown run was 4 Miles @ 6:51 - HR 159. I think I can determine there is improvement even though my HR is up slightly on this run. I'm sure the heat and humidity took a little out of me today too.

Psalm 119:33-40

 33-40 God, teach me lessons for living
      so I can stay the course.
   Give me insight so I can do what you tell me—
      my whole life one long, obedient response.
   Guide me down the road of your commandments;
      I love traveling this freeway!
   Give me a bent for your words of wisdom,
      and not for piling up loot.
   Divert my eyes from toys and trinkets,
      invigorate me on the pilgrim way.
   Affirm your promises to me—
      promises made to all who fear you.
   Deflect the harsh words of my critics—
      but what you say is always so good.
   See how hungry I am for your counsel;
      preserve my life through your righteous ways!

Nice run! Always nice to see that kind of improvement. I see more PRs coming soon.

So IJR... do you look at the target pace and just figure to run it 15 to 20 seconds faster? Man, you are quick! I wont get anywhere close to those times.... NICE

Thanks Dave, I'm ready for a good PR improvement!

Rye,

I knew 4 miles at 7:00 wouldn't be too difficult since I ran a half marathon at 6:53 avg. pace and my last training run like this one was a 6:51. It just didn't make since to run any slower. A fifth mile at this pace would have been very difficult.

Great tempo, that sounds like a hilly route as well. I agree it would be a lot harder to do in June than before Cowtown this winter.

Nice tempo run, fast speeds are looking great.

Thanks for the scripture reference. I need to read more inspirational thoughts.

Thanks Joe and Bec,

All my routes have hills, not big but just enough to make it somewhat tough.
