One week out from the surgery and I'm still pretty sore and not able to do much. I am trying to keep my arm active and stretching it as much as possible. My arm and shoulder have atrophied and look quite a bit smaller than my other arm and shoulder. I'm anxious to exercise it but am being very careful.

I was thinking of something to blog about and decided to set up a "Race" schedule for the fall of this year and next year up to Boston. It seems to lay out pretty well but I think I'll be a little slow jumping into the Rock-N-Roll marathon training because of this injury and the summer/fall heat here in Texas. Anyway, it gave me something to think about for the next few weeks.

Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.

Glad to hear you're mending. Probably not near as quickly as you'd like, but it's happening. You'll be better than ever in no time. Lily's saying comes to mind "I do hard things". Same can be said for you.

This is starting to break my spirit a little. :-(

Let not your hearts be troubled... Besides, when you post an update, I get The $6,000,000 Man theme in my head > “We can rebuild him. We have the technology. We can make him better than he was. Better...stronger...faster.”

Something is wrong with me. I feel like I keep going in and out of bouts of caring about putting up a racing schedule (and EVEN actually racing) and then not doing anything at all...

Tom,

I feel like the $6.00 man right now. :-(

Lily,

This is one thing that raised my spirit...then I got up and walked away from my computer, felt the pain and the feeling was gone. :-( Anyway, you know the scripture: "confess with your mouth..." ...we'll that doesn't really apply, but you get the point! :-)

Ahh sorry. All will be well soon, I know it.

Surgery is a big deal, so I wasn't expecting you back yet, but it WILL heal and you'll run Boston next year.

Hey, maybe we can run San Antonio together.

Wow! I haven't been on the blog for a bit! I had to read back through your entries to see what had happened. Sorry to hear about your accident. It sounds like you're off to a good start in the mending/recovery area. Hope it all goes well for you.

Sounds like you are doing what you can--hard to keep spirits up when you are hurt! I am going to try and get into Boston in April.
