Ha ha...ran 2 miles today and after I looked at my time each mile was within 1 second of what I ran on Wednesday. Oh well, not much more to talk about when I only run 2 miles :-)

I will probably bike about 25 miles this evening...

Matthew 5:10-12

“Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness' sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. “Blessed are you when others revile you and persecute you and utter all kinds of evil against you falsely on my account. Rejoice and be glad, for your reward is great in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you.

Hip feeling any better? Pretty cool that you can just say, "going out for a 25-miler later." At least you can explore some new scenery with those extra distances

I was going to ask what Joe said- how are you feeling? Great getting out, nice bike exploring.

Joe & Dan,

My hip seems to be slowly getting better. This morning, when I got up, it didn't seem to hurt at all so I thought, I'll go out and run 3 miles. By the time I walked to the end of my road it was hurting to the point that I considered not running at all. Again, as it has been for the last several 2 mile runs, it was pretty painful for the first 3/4 mile and then just somwhat uncomfortable after that. I would normally think...agh just run further since it better the further you run, but after my runs, during the middle of the day, it flairs up and continues to hurt (painful to walk to the point of limping) usually until the evening when it starts to feel better again. Then the cycle repeats. I have been trying to run every two or three days for the last two weeks with no worsening of the pain and some slight improvement. For example, before my hip hurt just laying in bed and moving around, now it doesn't hurt like that. The biking hasen't had any effect on the pain...no more, no less...so I just keep biking. The problem with biking is that it takes so long and it's hard to keep my heart rate really high over that period of time. I'm definatly conditioning some different muscles :-) I'm planning on continuning the short runs every couple fo days and increasing my biking as much as I can. For example, I plan to ride 25 today, 30 - 40 tomorrow and either 25 or 50 on Sunday. I'm not sure how the rides over 25 will be (never been that far). I have been trying to push the speed each time I ride. I can maintain a 16 - 18 mph speed for the rides I've made but not sure how much that will drop when I add 10 to 20 more miles....we'll see.

Sorry my writing is so long....but my Running Blog Buddies are the only ones who cares...I don't have any local running friends to cry too.... :-(

Never occurred to me that you have nobody to run with there, but it makes sense I guess. Most runners tend to live in larger towns. I think this biking stuff is really good, though I probably will never do it. I can see your inner tri-athlete coming out. . .

I really like that scripture. Reminds me to study my Bible more often.

Hi Steve ash,

ME TOO....!

Hey, I noticed you just passed me on the Milage Board ... :-) Hope you don't lose sight of me in your rear view mirror! Hopefully I'll be running again soon :-)
