Short-Term Running Goals:

This year I am looking to race a bit more and hope to improve. I have started to train a bit differently using a more well rounded program. Including tempo and speed work (which up to this point I have slacked off on) Would like to be somewhere near the top of my A.G. it makes racing more fun. Also helping motivate people to become more active and enjoy getting out and enjoying all life has to offer.

Long-Term Running Goals:

have not really set long term goals just love the great benefits physically as well as mentally that have come with running and look to continue to grow and improve

Personal:

Married to an amazing woman who I get to enjoy living and loving life for all its worth. From our urban farm to exploring the backcountry. I have 2 boys who are about grown. My passion for running has not diminished over the years just evolved into an integral part of life like it always has been but a little different. Lucky for me Tiff puts up with my running obsession and doesn't complain too much.

9.1 am miles set out on a different route this morning like to try and mix it up getting some hills and different terrain in to keep things fresh. took reggie(my friends dog i think its a lab /poodle mix) along tied to my waist he usually does pretty well staying right with me. so this morning i was feeling fairly good somewhere in the 8:30 m/m range (yes mike i finally broke down and bought a garmin 305 ha ha although i still rarely if ever look at it while running mostly look at it after the fact for reference plus it is easier to download it onto the computer than manually entering my routes) anyway back to my story we, reggie and i were coming up on about 8.5 miles when he inadvertantly stepped in front of me tripping me up i almost managed to get it under control without falling except with him tied to my waist and trying to get out of my way he tugged on the leash around my waist and down i went oops. luckily i had gloves on so my hands did not get torn up, i haqve a nice raspberry on my knee but all in all no worse for wear and reggie did not get hurt either so it all was ok

7.0 elliptical miles at the gym working some cross training in even though i am a running junkie i have to do something for my upper body so i dont look malnourished ha ha

I'm happy you're back. I'm even happier to know that you have still been running. thanks for getting a watch, it's been bugging me! Did you still average about 60-70 miles a week for the last six months?

I was traveling and backpacking/hiking for a chunk of the time but back on the road now, just cant seem to get away. Getting the mileage back over the last month and a half or so, now back into the 60's and 70's. Got to try and keep up with you in the races, looking forward to the Winter Series once again. I didnt race much last year mostly Ragnar Relays so hoping to get a few more in this year. As of now I am registered for the Ogden full and debating Salt Lake half or full have not decided quite yet. How are your plans for the year shaping up??
