| | Today we did a test at the dirt mile. We would see how far we could run in 15 minutes. I got 3535 meters. It was so tough! I finished 1 meter behind coach Roberts. He's a dang funny guy. Coach said that I have to do the level 2 stuff from now on until I'm ready to do the higher stuff... Glad I get to do less, but sad that I get less mileage at the same time. Does anybody have any good breathing techniques they use while running? Lately I have been having a hard time breathing during my runs. (Half a mile barefoot warmup) |

1 mile warm up. We did a 30/30 workout based on our 6 vV02 test last week. We would run a certain amount of meters in 30 seconds as many times as we could. I was supposed to be hitting 127 meters. I felt really good about today! I made it to 38! I feel that I so could've made it to 40 though. Just if I would've tried that much harder. I feel that I'm gonna have a good future in running. Even if I'm not that good now. I may not be there today, but I'm closer than I was yesterday. (half a mile barefoot warmup)

| | This was probably the most I've ever done barefoot. I always like the barefoot runs best. Today was just more of a recovery day from yesterday's 30/30 workout. Did 4 miles on the grass and then 1 mile of striders. My legs don't feel sore from yesterday at all. I felt really good today, but I started to get pretty tired around mile 3 and just kept getting more and more tired. Felt good overall. (half a mile barefoot warmup). |

| | Today felt really tough. We did 2 parkway loops and I actually kept with the guys for about halfway up the first time, and then I fell back. By the time I finished my second one, the rest of the guys were up there cheering me, Dallin, Jake, Will, and Jake on. I felt like I was going good for me. I was proud when I finally made it back to the school. A year ago today I never would have dreamed of running this much in a day, and now I do it all the time! I have improved way more than I thought I ever would. Again, does anybody know any good breathing techniques or something like that? (half a mile barefoot warmup). |

| | Today we ran the Mustang Pass trail at Green Springs. It was really fun and it was very good scenery. I always love the runs over there because of the surroundings. I felt pretty good I guess. I fell a little behind and then caught back up. On the way back, me, Jake, and Nick decided to slow it down a bit (which was really nice cause I was dying). I woke up today with my heart rate at 87 bpm from just a 66 the day before. Could somebody explain the whole heart rate thing? Like what does it mean when your heart rate is high or low? | | Today was the best run I have ever had... And also the first Saturday I've ran in a while. I ran from my house up past Maverick, past the freeway entrances, to these four wheel trails. (We've ran through it a couple times during the track season). I know I was only supposed to run 4 and I was going to only run 4, but by the time I got there, it was already time to turn back and what's the fun in that? Anyways, it was an adventure. I never know where each trail will take me. I ended up seeing a rattlesnake and like 7 bunnies! Luckily, the rattlesnake was not near me. I must have looked like an idiot out there because I was singing along to my Ipod almost the whole time. I'm glad nobody else was out there. I've decided that I need to reprioritise my running goals. Instead of trying to be the best and get the best times, I've decided that my number one goal is to have fun. After that, it is to be the best runner I can become and get PRs and stuff like that. After today, I don't think I'll be missing a Saturday run in a long time. |
