I ran the Gulf Beach Half Marathon today. Only Goal: Go for 8:40/mile Average Pace and do this by keeping splits in the 8:30-8:50 pace range. Just looking to do a tempo run today and not racing the course. Splits were 8:44, 8:38, 8:35, 8:33, 8:37, 8:31, 8:35, 8:35, 8:37, 8:43, 8:39, 8:42, and 8:34. The range is 8:31-8:44 with a 13 second spread showing high consistency amongst splits. Goal accomplished. Covered the 13 miles at 8:37/mile AP.
