A Mile Time Trial: Okay – not happening today.  I got the mile done @ 7:44/mile pace.  I think my 5 mile pace is 7:47/mile.  So clearly I did not get the mile done at mile race pace.  Maybe I’ll give it another go in a couple weeks.

Come on Pat, try warming up next time, it makes the mile a lot easier!!!! Better still, I will come on over and give you guys a demo!

Marc, I hear that. I'll go for another mile time trial in a couple weeks. But, for fun, I am considering running a 7:44/mile or better for the 20th mile of my next long run...sort of prove to myself how easy that mile is! But darn, it sure was not easy Sunday!

You'll figure out the whole mile pace. I believe you're faster than you believe. Your endurance is definitely there to pull it off. Maybe do some 100 meter or 200 meter bursts at mile pace during some runs just to get used to the pace and it'll slowly build from there.

Good luck PRE! Lots of fun seeing you figure out this ultra business.
