Phil, you're doing an awesome job on your training, keep it up. Just a side note, usually people consider their threshold pace to be about 20-25 seconds per mile slower than 5k pace. Not sure what Lydiard says on the subject, but typically 6:30 pace for you is going to fall in the easy to steady pace range.

I've heard that threshold pace is 15-30 seconds slower than 10K pace. But you're right, this wasn't that fast of a pace. I think usually you would run threshold pace for long repeats, or a tempo run. But since I was just doing 5 miles straight at this pace I decided to keep it a little slower.
