Endure and persist; this pain will turn to your good. - Ovid

Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we rejoice in the hope of the glory of God. Not only so, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom he has given us. - Romans 5:1-5

AM - Forrester Acres loops with Seth. Recovery is going very well, and I feel better than I did after UVM and after Des News. It snowed in the mountains last night, and rained a lot in town this morning. The air smells like autumn leaves. I love it.

PM - 4.5 miles after dinner with Seth. Summit-Hillside Loop. Slow.

AM - Smithfield Canyon, with Seth, 8 miles, 7:25/mile. 41 degrees out when I got up this morning, so I waited for a few hours...then it was 48 degrees, much better. Beautiful morning, inspiring for running. This is just what I need for the final stretch of training...some inspiration. I do like to train, but I also hate it, so the weather helps.

PM - running around Smithfield with Seth. 6 miles. I forget the pace.

Big Workout. Ran up Smithfield Canyon, 15 miles total. Kept the pace at a brisk to Tinman Tempo effort. Not too intense (being a recovery week from TOU), but it was a long effort. Averaged 6:16/mile for the run. Hit sub-6 for the last 6 miles. Uphill part of the canyon was 6:15-6:30, and the dirt was a bit slower.

Long run. I kept the pace brisk and steady, but nothing intense, as I'm trying this as a "recovery week", but not necessarily a low-mileage week. Thus, keep the volume, but everything is slower than MP. Did an out-and-back from my house to the canal trail to 1600 E to USU to Logan Canyon, to the River Trail. Was a little suprised to hit the River Trail before 8 miles, so I actually got up on the single track before it was time to turn around. Had a good run, and felt good, although tired at the end. Averaged 6:18/mile for 20 miles. Nothing faster than 6:00 and nothing slower than 6:30, so it was pretty even.
