Endure and persist; this pain will turn to your good. - Ovid

Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we rejoice in the hope of the glory of God. Not only so, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom he has given us. - Romans 5:1-5

Taking today off, and probably tomorrow too. I feel decent after the race, but just want a short hiatus.

Another day off. I'll start running again tomorrow.

In the meantime, thanks to Jon bugging me, I have updated my personal blog with two brand-spankin'-new postings. Mostly rehashes of things I've already said, but whatever. They can be viewed HERE and HERE.

Also, my official RnR time was updated to be 1:08:12. Sweet! A 3-second PR without having to do anything. It's been a productive time off...

Did a trail run with Cody this morning. We left Logan at 5:30AM, and drove to the Bunchgrass trailhead, off of Hwy-89. We then ran the Bunchgrass/Whitepine Trail up to White Pine Lake, near Tony Grove. It was about a 15 mile round trip (not including the hike we took around the lake for fun), and about 2000' elevation climb, going from 6400' to 8400', and then back down. The trail was very runnable, minus a few steep segments we walked on. Cody dusted me going downhill, since I'm so slow on technical trail stuff. The whole run + hike took about 2 hours and 40 minutes. We were home by 9:30AM, which was the best part. It's always great to get up in the mountains and get a nice trail run in, and then still have the whole Saturday in front of me.
