Endure and persist; this pain will turn to your good. - Ovid

Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we rejoice in the hope of the glory of God. Not only so, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom he has given us. - Romans 5:1-5

Big Workout, ran with Mike. We did 4x2-mile, with 3-min recoveries. Was a little warm this morning (>70), but a slight breeze helped cool things.

Route was Power Trail to Spring Creek.

Warmed up 3 miles.

Splits were (5:17, 5:15), (5:22, 5:17), (5:20, 5:05), (5:11, 5:10).

This was a nice workout. Some splits were slowed down by having to "portage" the trail underpasses, which were flooded by Spring Creek.

16 miles total, averaged 6:18/mile.

pm - 4-mile shakeout on Fossil Creek trail. No watch.

Helped out at the 5K race this morning, which my sponsor puts on. They didn't need me during the actual race, so I grabbed a number and did a workout. Splits were about 5:25, 5:25, 5:10. Took 2nd.

Did a cooldown with some of the guys, and then met up with Mike and ran 13 more miles, up to Horsetooth Reservoir and back. Ended up with 21 miles for the day, spread out over several hours.
