Endure and persist; this pain will turn to your good. - Ovid

Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we rejoice in the hope of the glory of God. Not only so, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom he has given us. - Romans 5:1-5

The day after the race, my calves and feet are pretty sore (from wearing the Saucony Type-A), and hamstrings are tight. But other than that, I am not feeling too bad, and there is no damage done.

Day off. We did some walking with Seth and my parents.

My calves and sides of my lower legs are still pretty sore and beat up, but I went for a short run this morning. Did a 6-mile out-and-back from my parent's house in Brazil, Indiana (pronounced Bray-zil if you are a local). No bottles or cans of snuff thrown at me from moving vehicles, which made it a successful run. 7:20/mile average pace, on a beautiful, cool morning.

Ran on the county roads near my parents house in Indiana. 6:51/mile average pace. My legs are still a little sore, but more better than the last two days, so sub-7 pace was quite enjoyable. We fly back to Utah today, so today was my last run at low altitude for a while.

AM - ran the dog for a mile

PM - Planet Walk, 4 miles

I'm finally back in town, and I've got a pile of work waiting for me. Running is going to have to take a lower priority until I can get caught up.

Ran with Jon up to Guineva Malibu and back. I was quite tired and the run was very slow. But it was still a great day to be out there.

I made my famous "Paul's Recovery Omelet" when I got back: 4 eggs, 4 strips of bacon, half an avocado, chopped red onion, and sharp cheddar.
