Endure and persist; this pain will turn to your good. - Ovid

Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we rejoice in the hope of the glory of God. Not only so, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom he has given us. - Romans 5:1-5

Congrats Paul that's great news. You sure showed an awesome performance last week. Do feel that the first couple slow mile pace could have cost you a 1:07 or would you have had enough kick at the end to achieve that?

From paul on Fri, May 08, 2009 at 14:36:14 from 65.103.252.214

actually, the doctor didn't say anything about running. He said to see him again in 6 months. And that IS good news. Kory - no, I don't think I could have ran any faster. Only Mile 1 was slow. I do think I could have shown more guts and tenacity at the finish to kick down the Kenyan, but that would have only given me a few seconds.

Paul - regardless that was a great accomplishment and race.

After a race you always say I should have kicked harder when you cross the finish line and have time to process the race. But most of the time (not all of the time) you have nothing left at the end and can't kick harder. I guess that's where at that point we all have to flip on positive thinking and fake the brain and muscles out to dip in to that last glycogen and strength to dig deeper. Okay enough rambling.
