Endure and persist; this pain will turn to your good. - Ovid
Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we rejoice in the hope of the glory of God. Not only so, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom he has given us. - Romans 5:1-5

Did the Bear River Loop, with 7 miles of tempo. Most miles were around 5:55 or so, but I had a 5:45 and a 5:40 in the middle. Turned it down with a few miles left and cruised at 6:30-6:40 for a couple miles, and then did 6 strides up the hill on the last mile. 6:07/mile average pace for the run. Didn't feel especially great, but not terrible either.

AM - lower Hyde Park out-and-back. 8 miles, 7:00/mile average. Achilles is still bothering me a little bit.
PM - Summit Dr loop with Seth. Saw a bunch of deer in the cemetery, which Seth liked. 8:00/mile pace. Seth has gotten heavier over the winter, and the hills have gotten bigger, so the stroller is tough going.

Ran from work and did the Planet Walk - Landfill Loop. Planet Walk is almost clear, just a little ice left. It was a bit warmer today, and very nice to run. I walked the dog, so to speak. Right achilles feels about the same as yesterday. Running easy is fine (no pain and doesn't make things worse), but no speedwork or hills until it gets better. 6:59/mile average.

AM - Summit Loop, 4 miles easy. 7:10/mile pace.
PM - Ran home from work, a little over 8 miles. It's the first time I've done this, but perhaps I'll do it once/week. Saves commuting time. Just wore my watch, but average pace was around 7:00/mile, maybe a little under.

Ran with special guest Walter this morning. I intended to run the back roads up to Richmond (which is nice and flat), but then we bumped into Carson Cambell running with some of his team, and he ran with us for a while, and amidst the confusion we ended up going all the way up Smithfield Canyon, which is the exact opposite of what I had planned. Carson left us midway, so Walter and I kept going until the road got really bad, then we came back down. The probably was that we only had 9 miles, and we needed 16. So then we ran a loop to Hyde Park. Still needed a few more after than, so then we did a small loop on Summit Dr and back to my house. 16.5 miles total, averaged 7:15/mile.
