Endure and persist; this pain will turn to your good. - Ovid
Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we rejoice in the hope of the glory of God. Not only so, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom he has given us. - Romans 5:1-5

| Wanted to do a tempo today, but my legs would have none of it. Feeling very bleh, guess I need more recovery although I didn't feel bad yesterday. So I ran the Millville Hill Loop from work, and just tried to keep the pace steady. Averaged 6:49/mile for 13.25 miles. |

| Blech, yucky air today. I wanted to drive up Blacksmith Fork Canyon to run, but I just did have time to take an hour hit in my day for travel time. I had a 20-miler scheduled today, and I broke it up into two portions. During the first part, I ran to Import Auto on 1400 N in Logan to pick up our car. Drove it home, ate a pear, and then ran up Smithfield Canyon to finished the run. I was hoping to hit clear skies at some point, but never got out of the fog, even at 5300'. I tried to keep a brisk pace for most of the run, and hit 5:50s for many of the downhill-ish miles. Averaged 6:19/mile overall for the 20 miles. So it was a pretty decent run, especially for my first 20-miler of the year, but not fun with the air quality. Also, I hit 80 miles for the first time ever in January. Hopefully next week I can keep the mileage, but add a little bit more quality. |
