Diagnosed with Ankylosing Spondylitis in June of 2008. Started taking Enbrel in March, 2009.

Run as much as I can, and race as well as I can. Make the most of however much time I have left as an able-bodied runner.

Raining and yucky today. I made myself get some miles in, and did my banking errands during the run. 7.75 miles, averaged 6:32/mile.

Way to go conquering the rain with a run. Sometimes you just have to do it.

What do you consider your 6:32 pace to be? Easy run, medium, or Tinman Tempo, but usually that would be faster for you.

6:30 is easy, but steady. At least at low mileage. If I'm doing high mileage and doing big workouts, I almost never run this pace.

Yes, the higher my mileage gets, the slower the easy runs become. At low mileage, I can pretty much run moderate every day (6:00-6:30/mile), and it feels great, but at higher mileage, and with marathon-specific training, I'm in a constant state of recovery, so easy runs rarely dip much under 7:00/mile. It's not so much holding back as it is just being tired and trying to recover in time for the next Big Workout.

Thanks Paul. With my leg (Mr. Titanium) I'm having a hard time finding whats easy, medium or hard. I think its not from running for a while.

I tend to just keep getting faster each mile. I need to be patient and focus on endurance and stay slow, because I'm starting to increase mileage each week as the leg gets better. I don't want to get injured not knowing whats hard or easy, because it's all somewhat hard at any pace.

But like you said high mileage weeks you want more easy and not much hard. Something like that.
