Endure and persist; this pain will turn to your good. - Ovid

Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we rejoice in the hope of the glory of God. Not only so, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom he has given us. - Romans 5:1-5

Did a Little Workout today. Put on my flats, then ran down to the Skyview track to do 2x1600m at 10K pace. However, the track had a nice layer of frost on it, and was a little slick, especially with my rather bald road flats. Skyview track has very narrow turns to boot, and I ran rather tentatively. The first 1600m was 5:20, way too slow. So I ditched the track and did the second repeat on the road, a full mile in 5:02. This was a bit better, but I was not feeling snappy for whatever reason. Oh well, the best part of the taper is Wed through Fri, so I don't really need to be feeling good until Friday anyway. Ran back home, changed into my Adrenalines, and finished the run with an out-and-back on Summit Dr. 6:54/mile for 10 miles.

Taper week!!! I'm getting excited for you. You're not really going to retire forever after this race though, right? Especially once you qualify for the trials...can't retire then. :)

I dunno. It would be nice to go out on a high note. I'd probably still show up for trials for the free food.

Yeah, that's awesome. So glad I'm not a Vikings fan.
