Endure and persist; this pain will turn to your good. - Ovid

Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we rejoice in the hope of the glory of God. Not only so, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom he has given us. - Romans 5:1-5

Awesome day to run. It had rained all night and all morning, but had stopped by my lunch time. Cool and humid. Ran Power Trail out to Poudre River Trail. Did 3 miles warmup at 6:30/mile pace, and then did 3x2-mile with 2-minute recovery jog between intervals. Splits were:

  • 10:31 (5:18, 5:13)
  • 10:24 (5:15, 5:08)
  • 10:12 (5:08, 5:04)

Good workout. Ended up averaging 6:05/mile overall for 14 miles.

Looking pretty sharp!

Didn't take you long to get back into doubles, workouts, and 80-90 miles weeks. Seems like a good indicator workout.

By my reckoning, it took about 8 months. But I do feel like I'm getting in decent shape.

True, true. I guess I meant the increase in mileage, workouts, and doubles from where you were a few weeks ago around 50-60.

That's true. It's really easy (and not hard on the body) to bump up the mileage pretty quickly via doubles. I was doing 10-12 miles per day as singles, but 14 miles/day as doubles is a bit easier, even though the total volume is higher.

It's fun to see you cranking things back up. Nice workout!
