Ran/biked/stairstepped.  Hamstring to bum tendons aching.  I probably need a new chair at work or more padding.  It seems that when I run at lunch-time that in the afternoon the tendons ache a lot more.  Sitting down seems to make it worse.

I thought that your name sounded familiar. I grew up in Mona and my dad is Val Barnes. I remember you running races when I was just a little guy in the early 80s.

I don’t know the history behind your sore hamstring, but it sounds to me like you might need to do some core work. A lot of times if our core muscles are weak we can get “out of whack”. If you are “out of whack” or have tightness somewhere like your lower back, you might overcompensate when you run and stress your hammy. Instead of a softer chair at work try sitting on an exercise ball.

I only suggest that because I have another good friend that had hammy problems for years. He got his core stronger and his tightness taken care of and he has never had those types of problems again. He still sits on a big exercise ball at his work computer instead of a chair.
