Personal:

I am a 34 year old male from Chicago, Illinois. I graduated from the University of Colorado in May 2006 and started running in the spring of 2007. Since then I have gone from a max of about 220 pounds to my current weight of roughly 175 lbs, and more importantly have developed a true joy and passion for running.

Final long run in training preparation for Chicago Marathon on 10/11/09. I skipped the early, fully-supported organized 20-mile training run (CARA Ready-to-Run) in favor of sleeping later and going out on my own. Ran 21 miles in 2:23:53 for an average pace of 6:51/mile. Felt good overall, although experiencing some right ankle pain which has already significantly diminished. Plan on taking an easy, relaxed 8 mile run Monday  in Houston after work.

Very good! I think it is safe to go out faster than 7:00. But just to be sure, find the 3:00 pace group and run with them until 20. Then if you feel good pull away.

Thanks a lot Sasha, I appreciate your advice. I will plan on following that strategy.
