I live in Kauai, Hawaii with my wife and 3 kids.  I ran x-country and track in high school. I had too much fun in college and never tried out for the teams. I graduated from BYU Provo.

No running the past month?

From Nic on Wed, Oct 02, 2019 at 13:50:42 from 66.91.141.150

No running for a while. My left knee has been sore for a year or so but nothing more then a mild pain which is normal from running. I thought it was a torn meniscus which I've had in the past. It progressed rapidly and last month I had to stop running and get a ride home because it hurt so much. Anyways, I got a MRI and I have bone edema, chondromalacia, a small hole in my cartilage, and possibly a small meniscus tear. So a bad knee. Surgery is possible for the cartilage and bone edema but they are not easy surgeries so the Doctors said to wait 6 months. The bone edmema can take 1-2 years to fully heal because mine is really bad. So I can't do any kind of running for a while. I'm trying to bike but I don't love biking. My Doctor/friend suggested water aerobics but I declined.

Well that stinks, sorry to hear about it. Hopefully you can find some sport you can do and enjoy, or get back to running at some point.

So what's happening in Hawaii with the coronavirus? Things as exciting over there as in the mainland?

Not too bad in Hawaii yet. Flights are cheap, come on over! I just got back from a work trip to Las Vegas, Seattle, and Canada. I'm back in Hawaii now but my office doesn't want me to come in.

Ha- don't think I'll be able to make that flight. But glad to hear it's relatively calm over there.
