I live in Kauai, Hawaii with my wife and 3 kids. I ran x-country and track in high school. I had too much fun in college and never tried out for the teams. I graduated from BYU Provo.
Rest of day - Surfing & swimming which I'll count for 1.5 miles.
Asics Nimbus 10 Miles: 4.50

Right now the best place to surf is at Hanalei. There is a swell this week so it has been nice. You don't go right by the pier though, you need to go to the next lifeguard station up (NW). In Poipu the Waiohai has bigger waves but you have to be careful not to surf or get pushed into the reef by the beach. The Sheraton is better for beginners if there are waves. Breneckes in Poipu is the best boogie boarding beach. I don't know on where to rent boards. I have never rented but in Popiu and Hanalei you will see numerous places that rent. I have a cheaper costco 8' board a 7' board that you could borrow but you would have to wait until Sun. My wife's sister's family is in town until Sun and they have my boards.
