Today I ran ten easy miles today beginning in the greenbelt and continuing past my old high school. I finished off the day with 8x150 meter strides. I don't quite know how these do it, but they really clean up any discrepancies with form. I have come to rely on them, especially before races. They seem to "numb" me to fast pace, letting my body know that going fast is not necessarily bad. Sometimes that is just what I need. Pacing for races can seem very fast at times, but these seem to really keep that whole scene in check. If you continually get a taste of this pace, then come race time you will not feel overwhelmed. |
