Sweet, but hot afternoon striders 7! Was hoping for some cloud cover, but not in the cards today. I heard there was around 150 runners. 3:00 pm start time. They bused us up to the top of 29th street and the gun went off. Tried to start off somewhat up front, so I wouldn't get trapped on the single track. First mile was about 8:30 up hill - forgot how much up!! 2nd mile hit a 6:48 way to fast especially because it's rolling and I hadn't hit the down yet and I was starting to feel the heat. 3rd and 4th miles were right around 7:05+-. 5th mile 7:30 started to over heat on the pathway. Only 1 water station. 6th mile 7:44 and starting to fade glad the finish line was in sight. Not sure on the .85 forgot to stop my watch. Tried picking it up though no one passed me on Grant! - A little over heated, but a great race.

They had me AVG 7:17's - I'm happy with that considering the conditions and taking 1st in the 30-39 group! PS. lots of good swag...

Thanks for the race report and congratulations on the age division win. I was going to come and run this race this year, but got too busy to head up.
