Sweet Fourth of July 10k. Got to the race early put got busy talking to people instead of warming up like I would have liked to. Oh well. It was good to see some people I haven't seen for awhile. Before I knew it the race was being called to order and the gun went off.

Mile 1   7:13  I found myself about 10 people back within the first quarter mile I started talking to John Lewis about next years WBR. After the first mile I told him it was go time. He was running it with his 10 yr old boy.

Mile 2  7:11 - this is an up around the dam onto the gravel pit road. I was happy with the time - the legs were feeling good. Started passing people.

Mile 3  7:16 Still feeling good was running with 2 guys on the gravel road, make it passed them by the end of the gravel back onto highway. 3 people in front of me here. 2 girls and 1 guy. The leader was some girl that was booking - out of sight (she ended up winning the race overall).

Mile 4  7:23 Not sure what happened hit to my pace - I ran most of the mile with one of the girls that was ahead of me passed her towards the end of the mile.No sight of the guy and girl a head of me.

Mile 5 6:41 Feeling absolutely great. Legs were rolling and I catch sight of the guy ahead of me no sign of the girl. Guy was about 3/4 mile ahead.

Mile 6  6:43 Still feeling great. running alone at this point. Would have been good to have the Booth man there to push.

Mile .32 6:21 pace. Great race 2 male 3rd overall. PR in the 10k.

awesome job those are some good miles those last 2, you were moving out!

That would have been a fun one to join you on, but the mile run in flip flops with the kids was fun too!
