Early Sat run.... finally had a great morning to run! The first few miles were a little chilly on the face and hands, but once the sun hit us it was great. Chad, BG, and I went up past the start of the Ogden Marathon course a few miles to hit our 16. Here's the breakdown:

7:46, 7:44, 7:50, 8:07, 8:04, 8:05, 8:04, 8:00, 7:57, 7:49, 7:49, 7:39, 7:50, 7:18, 7:28, 7:23

Mile 13 Chad and BG started pushing the pace - I was feeling good so I just went with it. I think we were all just glad not to be fighting the weather! Everyone looked strong! Nice Job Donkeys.

That was a good one, miles 4-9 were right where we want them for the marathon. the next long one i think we should force ourselves to run at that pace and go for over 20, just to see how we feel?

Let's do it... Plan on next Sat.

The Donkeys are starting to look like fast race horses now!

Yes, I think it is okay to push the pace a little bit on your long runs. What I would suggest doing on a long 16 miler is keeping the pace nice and easy for 10-11 miles and then try and hit your marathon pace for the last 5. It is a great confidence builder when you can do this. My 20 mile runs were done this way before St. George last year.

Great run, keep up the good work.
