I'm grateful to live in the Northwest on days like today. June in Utah almost definitely meant heat, but here it was a pleasant, almost cool, 60-some degrees and cloudy. Hardly even worked up a sweat on an afternoon run. Of course, the cool weather and rain meant that yesterday's lawn mowing went longer than expected and just about knocked me out, and kept me from getting a run in.  Still, a nice 3 mile out to a beach at low tide, then a hilly return that I kept a pretty brisk pace on. Breaking in new shoes, which usually puts a little spring in my step.

Sounds nice. It was hot (90s) yesterday, but is in the upper 70s today, so pretty pleasant. Summerfest was this weekend. I treated myself to a burger with a sausage on top of it. Ben knows which one I'm talking about.

I thought about getting one of Paul's "Mother-load" burgers, but I had to skip across the street to the Center Street Grill and have a Buffalo Jack burger instead.

I think that run that Paul and I did yesterday is underrated, but you might be the only other person in the world that knows that besides us.

Ok, that does it, I am doing that run next week. Anyone else care to join?

mmmm.....the original brurger.

james--poor decision. i'm disappointed.

yeah, it's pretty hot over in these parts too, Paul. Except add a lot of humidity to it. My run this afternoon just about killed the rest of my day. I can't recover too easily from losing all that water so quickly.

All this talk about James and Paul on their special runs together has got me wondering.... I need to go on one of these to see what they are ranting and raving about. Oh, and some of the food sounds great too. Too bad I missed summerfest...

David, good to see you around. Hope you're enjoying the new place. I am back on the road, as of the last week, and Port Gamble sounds great--the little devil on my shoulder says, "Let's do it." But fair warning: I'm still at about 4/5 speed, and was always a relative slowpoke. If you can hack those parameters I'd be up for it.

From David on Tue, Jun 19, 2007 at 11:16:39

Aaron --

Don't worry about speed, I'm not doing anything special myself these days. We can plan a time later this week, but I'll save Saturday morning for that trail. I'm thinking we meet early if possible, I might have to go help somebody move.

No one went to the Eddie's truck at Summerfest? For shame...

From Paul Petersen on Tue, Jun 19, 2007 at 11:18:53

Eddie's?? Sad story man, there is no Eddie's anymore. The restaurant is now a sushi place. That's right, sushi in Smithfield. Yet another sign of the apocalypse.
