Between 4 and 5 miles today, I wasn't keeping good track and I altered my loop. My mileage is way down this week. I tell myself it's because I'm busy, and that's partly true, but I could find the time. I always have in the past, and we're never as busy as we convince ourselves we are. I'm not able to run the race I was planning on in two weeks because of a family obligation, so I've lost some sense of urgency in training. I think I need a goal to keep me dedicated; otherwise I'm just going to run like I am now, 10-15 miles a week, to stay in shape for awhile. Honestly, that's all I'm interested in doing right now. So I'm going through a light period, and I'm sure I'll get focused again at some point. Other things are priority now.

Dave - I'll give you a reason to train harder. We have a good shot at beating BYU which dominated the race every time they've had it. Right now the running community in Utah thinks BYU is unbeatable and absolutely amazing. The truth is that this would be the case had they been bringing 12 runners of Josh Rohatinsky and Josh McAdams caliber, but they had not. All you have to do to beat them unless they get serious (could they?) is bring 12 guys who can do 3x10 K at no slower than 6:00 mile flat pace. This is not as easy as it sounds, but it looks like we are almost there. Every extra mile you put it counts and makes the win for us more of a reality. You as somebody with a lot of talent that has not yet been developed by training harder will bring the team more benefit than any other runner.

Dave, Paul mentioned you got yourself a house, congrats! Now all you need is to find yourself a cute little lady!

Sasha - check your email list - Dave is not running Wasatch Back. I'm not sure our team will get faster through proxy training.
