Personal:

Started running in November 2007 to get fit. Now I'm back almost to square one after back surgery. I did it once and I'll do it again.

"In truth, runners don't race other runners. They race against themselves: to conquer their wills, to transcend their weaknesses, to beat back their nightmares. And while a runner can't actually beat himself, he can beat his time. Even years into running, he can get better."  Running for His Life by Michael Hall.

645AM: Had a bout with vertigo last week which led to me to abandon running.  It's been the weirdest thing.  Went to the doctor because I thought it might be an early sign of H1N1 but it wasn't the case.  I was given a prescription for mezacline (sp?) and told that it was likely a viral infection targeting my inner ear.  Anyway, I ran 6M easy on the TM w/ no ill effects while I was running.  I got a little dizzy once I stopped but not too bad.

630AM: Finally felt good enough for a TM run this morning.  I've been down w/ flu like symptoms and strep.  Took it easy the first couple of miles then tried to pick it up in miles 3 & 4.  I had to cut it short due to an incredible side/stomach ache.  I'll try to get in another run tonight and tomorrow to make it for lost time.

10PM: Had a lot going on today and wasn't able to get in a run until real late.  Just short of 6M very slow.  It was my first run outdoors in weeks but the temps are not nearly as cold as they have been (around 30 degrees).
