Personal:

Started running in November 2007 to get fit. Now I'm back almost to square one after back surgery. I did it once and I'll do it again.

"In truth, runners don't race other runners. They race against themselves: to conquer their wills, to transcend their weaknesses, to beat back their nightmares. And while a runner can't actually beat himself, he can beat his time. Even years into running, he can get better."  Running for His Life by Michael Hall.

1230PM: 6 miles at lunchtime.  4M @ marathon pace, 1M easy, 1M cooldown. Weather is really nice right now for early November.  I ran in shorts and a long sleeve tee and I was more than comfortable.  Locked my keys in the car but luckily there was a car dealership nearby w/ a slim jim to bail me out.

630AM: 5.41 easy miles on the TM before work.

Noon: 1.5M on the mountain bike on the Greenbelt during lunch.  Biked to a spot where I had seen a few trout rising  on Monday.  Unfortunately, they were a little shy today w/ only a few sporadic risers.  No matter, I had a great time and even made friends w/ a mink who nearly ran over my shoes as I was standing on the bank.  Very cool but kinda freaky at the same time.  Those things have some sharp teeth and I'm pretty sure they haven't had all of their shots.

1230PM: 5.45 easy miles on the GB during lunchtime.  I ran the loop from Municipal to Ann Morrison Bridge through BSU campus and back over to the north side of the river via the bridge by Warm Springs GC.  Very pleasant day for a run.  Temp in the 50's w/ no wind and overcast.  I saw the F&G people dumping a bunch of hatchery steelhead adjacent to the stadium.  They had fools lined up elbow to elbow waiting for those pellet heads.  Quite amusing.
