Personal:

Started running in November 2007 to get fit. Now I'm back almost to square one after back surgery. I did it once and I'll do it again.

"In truth, runners don't race other runners. They race against themselves: to conquer their wills, to transcend their weaknesses, to beat back their nightmares. And while a runner can't actually beat himself, he can beat his time. Even years into running, he can get better."  Running for His Life by Michael Hall.

9PM: First run w/ my new trainers, Hoka Clifton. I've been looking forward to purchasing these shoes since before they were put out on the market. They have the same Hoka comfort but w/o the added weight. I don't know how they packed that much cushion into a lightweight shoe but they did, and it feels great. Ran :20-:30/mile faster w/ no added effort. I have just enough time to break these in for SGM.

Marlin just ran the Pocatello marathon in them and loved them...said these are his go to marathon shoes from now on!

I have to find a replacement for my marathon shoes (Saucony Tangents, now discontinued) as I am on my last pair. I will definitely give these a try.

Nice running! Keep up the good training for St. George...maybe we can touch base down there.

You won't regret it. I've never spent so much on shoes and I thought my 1st pair of Hokas were comfortable but this newer version, Clifton, is next level. Crazy it could be that light w/ that much shoe.

We're at the Ramada in SG. Hope we can cross paths down there. Regards.
