Personal:

Started running in November 2007 to get fit. Now I'm back almost to square one after back surgery. I did it once and I'll do it again.

"In truth, runners don't race other runners. They race against themselves: to conquer their wills, to transcend their weaknesses, to beat back their nightmares. And while a runner can't actually beat himself, he can beat his time. Even years into running, he can get better."  Running for His Life by Michael Hall.

640AM:  I actually felt rested this morning.  4.57M at slow, easy pace.  Got smoked by quite a few sprinklers again.  I wasn't so concerned about getting wet because it was relatively warm but I was a little worried that all the water would short out my ipod.  I've got a cover/armband protecting it but the sheer amount of water was similar to jumping in a pool.  My garmin watch is still acting funny.  It shuts off after 3/4M or so and then it seems to work OK the rest of the run.  It's a refurbished model so maybe its just reached the end of the line?

9PM:  Ran to the nearest Redbox (5 Mile and Overland) to pick up a couple of flix and back.  6.21 easy miles.  I was nearly home and just about to celebrate the fact that my Garmin didn't spontaneously shut-off when it powered down immediately after I tried to turn on the backlight.  The power button and backlight are the same button so I may have held the button too long and shut it off myself.

Between your animal encounters and troubles with electronics you have hazardous runs! Mine old Garmin and a buddies seem to go in and out...they just might be a consumable in your training that needs to be replaced every 3-4 years.

BTW, did you get "smoked" or "soaked" by the sprinklers? I hope it is the latter or I may worry about living in Boise!

I was trying to use a more descriptive adjective and sound more contemporary. I ended up just sounding like an old guy trying to be hip and cool. LOL.

That should read "verb" instead of "adjective." Aargh!
