Personal:

Married with 2 lively boys. I love running and I love getting faster. Just trying to figure out how to balance life between being a mother, wife, part time nurse, and runner. :)

When I was in 6th grade I filled out a Getting to Know You sheet. Under nicknames I wrote, "My brothers call me Boo Legs, I think its because I run fast." (It really came from the movie, Strange Brew) And its been my family nickname ever since.

I did a progressive tempo run today. Don't really know if that's a real running term, but it describes what my run was like today. It was comfortably hard.

1 mile warm up, 7:07, 7:02, 6:58, 6:53, 6:48, 6:42, 3 miles cool down.

I felt like it was easier for my mind and body to adjust to going faster each mile instead of banging them all out at just under 7.

That's a very real running term, and its one of the absolute best types of workouts you can do.

totally superb Natalie!!! progressive is like the running term for "frog in warm water being turned up slowly!!" Too much of a shock (like a 5k for example) to jump right in the frying pan!! way to go!!

Hey thanks everyone, I'm just trying to keep up with you 3. (Jake, there's no way in H___ I'd ever keep up with you.) :)

I did manage to break 8 minutes for the last mile of my run this morning (7:57 woohoo!)... so yep, I'm too fast for everyone now! :-)

Okay, I take it back. The week after you WIN a marathon, THEN I can keep up with you.
