Personal:

Married with 2 lively boys. I love running and I love getting faster. Just trying to figure out how to balance life between being a mother, wife, part time nurse, and runner. :)

When I was in 6th grade I filled out a Getting to Know You sheet. Under nicknames I wrote, "My brothers call me Boo Legs, I think its because I run fast." (It really came from the movie, Strange Brew) And its been my family nickname ever since.

I can't decide which type of speedwork I like the least: tempo, mile repeats, 800s, etc,... Usually whatever one I'm doing that day. :) But I always like the results that come from faster running.

1 mile warm up, 5 tempo miles, 1 mile cool down. Here's how the tempo miles went 7:08, 7:02, 6:55, 6:53, 6:47. I noticed in between mile 3-4 of the tempo miles is when I started to feel good. I felt like I could have gone longer, I'm hoping this is a good thing...

Nice workout Natalie! Its always good when you finish the tempo feeling like you had some more left in the tank... you'll get the same training stimulus and recover quicker for the next one

i would have to say that 3 mile trials at the track are my least favorite--- I am with you on tempos-- I get into a groove at mile 4. Way to go with the progressive run there!! what are your marathon plans this year??

JulieC, I haven't committed to any marathons. Taking a break from the big race you know? I'm doing a half in October but nothing else is officially on the list.
