Personal:

Married with 2 lively boys. I love running and I love getting faster. Just trying to figure out how to balance life between being a mother, wife, part time nurse, and runner. :)

When I was in 6th grade I filled out a Getting to Know You sheet. Under nicknames I wrote, "My brothers call me Boo Legs, I think its because I run fast." (It really came from the movie, Strange Brew) And its been my family nickname ever since.

I needed the run today. I applied for a job a couple weeks ago, got an interview, and I was pretty sure that I got it. I was more than qualified and it seemed like a better fit for me and my family. (I am going crazy on my current floor) Plus they called me earlier this week to see if they could contact my manager. I was just waiting for the call offering me the job.... it didn't come. Instead, I got an email this morning saying that they had found someone else. Bummer deal. I'm not looking for pity (because at least I have a decent paying job, when so many don't), I'm just explaining why I needed the run....

Onto the workout. I did the treadmill class again at my gym. It was killer. The teacher loves hills...I don't. But I did get some serious speedwork and major hills mixed in. Definitely a harder run than I would have done on my own. It kicked my trash and kicked my pity party out the window.

Now I gotta keep looking for a different job.....

Treadmill class? Please, please do explain because I'm picturing a bunch of treadmills lined up and someone shouting out orders. Yikes!

So so sorry to hear about the job. Jobs are so political these days (I work for intermountain) and it can be incredibly frustrating. Nurses are in high demand and there are always opennings so keep applying until you find what you want. You & your family deserve it.

I need to hear more about this treadmill class too! I didn't know that even existed!

Rachelle, that's exactly what it is! But the teacher really is awesome and motivating.

I work for intermountain as well, and I don't know about you...but I'm starting to feel more like a number. Unfortunately all the in demand jobs are hard/run you into the ground/don't get a lunch/don't have time to pee jobs. (Which is what my job is turning into) Wow, sorry for the rant. Again, at least I have a job, at least I have a job...

I have never heard of a treadmill class. So awesome!

I totally hear you on your frustration with Intermountain. I am a supervisor and work directly with Administration and it seems to be getting more and more political and top heavy these days. Very sad! hang in there and I'm sure something will work out for you.

I own Intermountain and I'll deal with your frustrations and Rachelle's:) Only joking!

Sorry about the job. Stick in there and something will come along. Life's great like that, something always comes along - but you gotta go chase it.

Stick at it and it'll happen...

real bummer but i know what you mean...our long hard shifts and if they don't help us feel good about our out side of work lives-- WORK has to give--- I am sure something BETTER will come for you. Running is a great way to come to peace with the day!! :D
