Personal:

Married with 2 lively boys. I love running and I love getting faster. Just trying to figure out how to balance life between being a mother, wife, part time nurse, and runner. :)

When I was in 6th grade I filled out a Getting to Know You sheet. Under nicknames I wrote, "My brothers call me Boo Legs, I think its because I run fast." (It really came from the movie, Strange Brew) And its been my family nickname ever since.

9 seems to be the number of the week so far....

Here's the workout from today.

1 mile warm up, 1/2 mile (3:07), 1 mile (6:18), 2 miles (6:40, 6:37), 1 mile (6:20), 1/2 mile (3:06), 1 mile cool down. Recovery jogs between each set.

I have a love/hate relationship with speedwork. I love how I feel after, but I hate it the burning in the lungs and legs that inevitably comes with it.

Awesome workout Natalie! SW is tough but the more you practice it the more tolerable it becomes. :)

Nice looking intervals. You are really cooking.

Great workout.

On the night before a speedwork session, do you go to bed thinking - Oh no, I've got all that pain ahead of me tomorrow. Now what have I gotta hit my splits in. Urgh, maybe I'll just do a tempo instead.

Then you wake up and you say to yourself, I'm not feeling too good, it looks windy outside, maybe a steady run might be the best option. Then you hear the great line - There is no such thing as bad weather, only weak runners. And then you tune into what must be done!

It's horrible but the feeling after a workout is awesome and you know you've earned the right to feel great about yourself.

Thanks Jake, Rachelle, and Kam. I'm just trying to ride on your speedy coattails.

Bam, as usual, you are spot on!
