Personal:

Married with 2 lively boys. I love running and I love getting faster. Just trying to figure out how to balance life between being a mother, wife, part time nurse, and runner. :)

When I was in 6th grade I filled out a Getting to Know You sheet. Under nicknames I wrote, "My brothers call me Boo Legs, I think its because I run fast." (It really came from the movie, Strange Brew) And its been my family nickname ever since.

I did a tabata workout on the treadmill today. It certainly got the ol ticker ticking! It went like this.....

2 mile warm up

8 rounds of tabata sprints (4 mins). 20 seconds on, 10 seconds off. Incline 1.5% Speed 9.5 mph (6:19 min/mile)

2 minute recovery. Incline 10% Speed 4 mph.

8 rounds of tabata sprints. Incline 1.5% Speed 10 mph (6:00 min/mile)

2 minute recovery

8 rounds of tabata sprints. Incline 1.5% Speed 10.5-11 mph (5:43-5:27 min/mile)

2 minute recovery

2 mile cool down.

Wipe up the sweat.

Tabata sprints is a new one on me. Looks like a cheeky little workout. Tough session with the pace quickening. I like it. Might have to give that a go myself...

Bam, its an awesome high intensity workout. Of course, you'll have to majorly adjust your speeds in the speedier direction for yourself. 20 seconds at 5:45 will feel like a walk in the park for you.

Great job, when I feel like I can safely do speed work again without hurting myself I would like to try these shorter sprint intervals!!
