I was attacked by a stomach flu bug yesterday evening. My stomach began eliminating its contents around 7:30 p.m. and didn't stop until after midnight at which point I was extremely thirsty and went to the kitchen to get some water.  The next thing I knew I was lying on the floor and Aaron was shaking me trying to wake me up.  I had a bump on my head, couldn't talk very clearly, and was sweating all over.  He carried me back to bed, got me a bowl, I puked some more and went back to bed.  He also got me some saltines and electrolyte drink and I nibbled/sipped a couple of times in the night.  I'm starting to get my energy back now, but I think I'm going to take a rest day.

Aaron was so helpful and caring.  His reward?  He's puking now.

Yuck ... sorry things are a little in upheaval at the kennard house ... way to show Aaron what kindness will get you (just kidding ... just think how bad it would have been if he had been a jerk).

seriously, hope you all feel better soon. It is hard when Mommy and Daddy get sick!!

Oh Nan be careful! Have you ever fainted before? What a wonderful husband you have--hope you are feeling stronger today.

Thanks guys, yes I've fainted many times before. Its always a little freaky though. I'm feeling a lot better today, and Aaron is already feeling better too.

I think a rest day was a wise choice (understatement).

I hope that nasty bug is short lived and you're both back to normal soon.

That is crazy, Nan! I hope you start getting your energy back soon. What a sweet husband you have.

Oh I'm so sorry to hear you two are sick! I'm glad you guys are already feeling better . . . take it easy, lots of warm soup, reading, sleeping, resting, water, etc. Now if only that were all possible (especially with little kids to take care of ):) Really get better soon!

From Nan Kennard on Sat, Feb 06, 2010 at 13:49:02 from 174.51.250.151

Thanks, everyone, we're better now. Aaron and I concluded that it must have been food poisoning from a spinach salad I made Thursday. I got sick about 8 hours after eating the salad for lunch and Aaron got sick about 10 hours after eating it for dinner but none of our kids got sick because they didn't eat the salad. Not sure if it was the spinach or the dressing, but I'm throwing it all away.
