Hip felt pretty good.  Stopped to stretch twice.  Ran past a kid smoking pot while he was walking to school. He looked pretty happy about life.

We snapped a mouse in the mouse trap in our kitchen and as I was throwing it away my 19 month old threw a HUGE fit.  I can understand why; in her head I was needlessly throwing a cute little soft stuffed animal into the garbage without even letting her play with it first...I'm such a mean Mom.

nice miles! glad your hip is cooperating.

no doubt the pot was for medicinal purposes.

We have the traps that are the sticky paper stuff. That way the mouse doesn't die right away. It suffers a slow painful death of starvation.

I prefer the quick death snap traps. The mice squeak and wimper while they're stuck in the glue tracks. It's horrible.

I was at the middle school last night and they had a poster up about some survey they did. It said that 98% of students don't smoke cigarettes, 98% of students don't smoke pot, and 93% of students don't drink alcohol. Make of that what you will.

I'm guessing the hundreds of other kids skipping school to smoke/drink weren't there to take the survey. Sounds way too optimistic to me.

Or they were afraid to answer honestly because they thought they would get turned in.

What a mean mom- won't let your kid play with the dead animals! :)

Pot is legal in Colorado, right?

I'm with Burt on the sticky mouse traps.

Glad your hip is doing well. Haha funny how kids think! I bet Mr. Marijuana was feeling happy about life!

Naughty Mom how mean of you and yay to the great running :-)

Melody-Yeah, medical marijuana is legal but supposedly you have to carry an ID card to be in possession of it and have a prescription to get it. I'm guessing its not super difficult to get it for recreational purposes either though. Why? You want some?

I'm with Carolyn on the sticky mouse traps. GROSS. I have never used them but I'm not interested in inhumane torture and I don't want to hear the sqeaking, dying mouse. I like the snappers because they are quick, efficient, and reusable.

From Burt on Fri, Mar 12, 2010 at 17:01:59 from 206.19.214.144

So last night I think we caught 4 of those little rascals. They're out of control! Around 1am I went downstairs and heard one squeaking. It was writhing in agony. I decided to leave it there in case any of its friends came to try and help it. Much to my delight there was another one with it in the morning.

Luckily my son has a fascination for killing things, so he puts them out of their misery.
