Hwy. 205, 8:40 a.m., sunny, 45. What a perfect day to run. Absolutely nothing hurt. My low back got a bit tired on the return portion, but I think that is from putting together the swingset. Long run tomorrow. I continue to write, "pace too fast, etc." Perhaps, this is my training pace. My body falls right into it, comfortably. 5 miles in 37:35 (7:35 pace).
Tomorrow, I will do a "long" run with a friend who is training for the St. Jude half-marathon. He continues to heckle me. I got him in to running ~1.5 years ago. He has natural talent and is 9 years younger than me, but does not have my drive. He was well aware of my recent injuries and said that he used the time to catch me. Honestly, I hope that he does catch me, as it will motivate me more. He tells me that I need to put away the walker and start running. Tomorrow's long run should be interesting. We'll see if he wants to crank it up mid-way through the run??? |
