I woke up this morning ,dropped off the kids at school and ate a small breakfast. A cool front is coming through this morning and there is a pretty stiff breeze out of the north.

It took forever to get warmed up this morning and the entire run I felt like BOTH my harmstrings were going to pull at any second. After a warm up my first mile was a 7:50. Stopped and stretched my hamy's but they seemed tighter after I got back going?? The next two miles were at a slower pace and the last was a 7:18.(yay me!!)

I'm still trying to drop some pounds. Current weight is 196. I ran a 5k in August at 205lb's and the time was 26:47 :(  I ran another 5k in September at 198lb's and the time was 24:39 :) Losing weight makes me feel like a different runner. It is amazing!

Nice running Mike! I hope your hamstrings get better soon. I'm right there with you on the weight loss, keep on running, add some fast intervals and, since you're a man, you'll lose weight without even thinking about it :)

Thanks Lucia! Sorry about your injury, I know that you will be back running in no time. I'm a little confused,is it easier to lose weight if you are a man?

Hey Mike, just found your blog. I've been out of town for a few days so I'm just catching up. Great job on getting it started and for hitting the road so regularly! It ought to be easier for men to lose weight due to having more muscle mass burning it, but our appetites seem to compensate. :)

Thanks for helping me Bob!!The blog has helped me with my mileage. After all... I've got to have something to write about.

good job on listening to hamstrings. Slowing done and getting them good and warm and then stretching is a good move.
