I would like to be able to keep up with my daughter.  The one who runs xc, not the one who's going to change the world through dance.  Although I would like to be able to dance also, so I change that to me wanting to be able to keep up with both my daughters.

Split my run in two.  I decided to wait until it cooled off.

5.63 miles @ 10:17 pace

1710; 113F (not a typo, but still a mistake); 6% humidity; overcast; 4 mph winds

5.48 miles @ 10:14 pace

2115; 100F; 12% humidity; dusty/smoke/haze; variable 7 mph winds which felt hotter than when the air was still

p90x yoga, cardio (Lame. It was just a mish mash of the other workouts, I had my hopes up after Thurs.  I suppose it was a good workout, but I was expecting something creative.)

Yeah, Burt is right. Are you getting serious? Your mileage is doing the talking ...

Thanks gentlemen.

Eric,

I'm just building up slowly. I'd like to work up to 50 miles/week. Usually I end up hurting myself. Keep your fingers crossed.

That is some serious heat Mike. Hope you are taking all the precautions to avoid heat related problems.

And ... that is some sweet mileage you've got going this week!!

SO AWESOME!!!!

113 is nothing, I can't believe you stopped at 5 and a half.

I always want to yell at people like you that I see running in crazy heat like that. Be careful!!

From sam on Sat, May 23, 2009 at 10:15:58 from 90.195.99.14

Holy moly thats hot, Im useless in the heat, good idea Ive been told when running in the heat, is to soak a hat/cap in cold water ??? not tried it, sounds good tho....

Do you have to eat a lot of salt?

From montelepsy on Sun, May 24, 2009 at 02:08:52 from 64.235.121.163

Thanks Bonnie, if you only knew what it took to get that award you'd be amazed.

Teena, I run with a lot of water and a heart rate monitor. And sunblock, which hasn't prevented my now prominent farmer's tan.

Kelsey, I honestly didn't realize it was that hot. I looked at the temperature, but it was in C. And I figured 45C was around 102 or something. I didn't convert it until I came back. What do you want to yell those people? Words of encouragment? Marriage proposals?

Sam, I run with my camelbak and alternate drinking and spitting water into my cupped hands and pouring it over my head. I've tried the hat thing, but things don't stay wet here very long. After washing my hands in the bathroom trailer, the 50 paces outside it takes me to get back to the office dries my hands.

Sno,

I don't eat extra salt. I do add a few shakes to my oatmeal in the morning though.
