Personal:

I used to run for BYU, but only after trying out three times and finally walking on, so I was never a star. However, it was wonderful to run with great people and under Coach Shane. When you run with fast people, you can't help to improve! I graduated BYU in 1998, and didn't run a race until 2002, after having my second child. My hiatus and other crazy life commitments have made my competitive running suffer, but the last couple of years I have tried to get back into it the best I can. I have been married since 1996, to Paul Lowry, who is a runner himself. I have three boys (my three rascals), ages 12, 10, and 8.

After a great 2008 season, I was injured and eventually diagnosed and cross-diagnosed with Ankylosing Spondylitis, a type of arthritis disease, which precludes running for all but the most stubborn.  So I am on medications, trying to stay healthy, and seeing my PT often.  And running!  Now beating the streets in Hong Kong.

Walked 3 miles, power lunges, long stretching, then 61 minutes on elliptical @ level 5, except jumped to level 8 for one minute, three minutes apart x 4, and going to level 4 between #3 and #4 to get hr down, elliptical says I burned 1001 cals.

Good news about eating is that I am committed to eating right this week.  I want to see 125 before tax season hits.

I, Michelle Lowry, am drinking a breakfast shake I made in my magic bullet which has spinach in it.  Can you believe it?  Total ingredients:  1 strawberry light yogurt, about 1/2 c. frozen blueberries, about 15-20 fresh spinach leaves, 2/3 of a small banana, about 1/2 c. oj, and some ice.  Bon appetite.

Minus the spinach it sounds de- LIGHT-ful!! Enjoy. You'll see 125 real soon on that for breakfast and your awesome workouts.

It was yummy, even with the spinach. I also had a piece of whole wheat toast with a tbsp of reduced fat pb on it.

I LOVE spinach smoothies!!! Add some blackberries in there, and the smoothie will no longer be green. The green scared me a bit, but I love them and so good for you---probably the only good for you thing I eat.

You will hit that weight fast, I am sure of that.

Told ya you'd love that thing. You'll love it even more in Summer.
