Personal:

I used to run for BYU, but only after trying out three times and finally walking on, so I was never a star. However, it was wonderful to run with great people and under Coach Shane. When you run with fast people, you can't help to improve! I graduated BYU in 1998, and didn't run a race until 2002, after having my second child. My hiatus and other crazy life commitments have made my competitive running suffer, but the last couple of years I have tried to get back into it the best I can. I have been married since 1996, to Paul Lowry, who is a runner himself. I have three boys (my three rascals), ages 12, 10, and 8.

After a great 2008 season, I was injured and eventually diagnosed and cross-diagnosed with Ankylosing Spondylitis, a type of arthritis disease, which precludes running for all but the most stubborn.  So I am on medications, trying to stay healthy, and seeing my PT often.  And running!  Now beating the streets in Hong Kong.

Slept in, and met Ali and MacK at 7am. They had already run 6 miles.  I ran 6 with them in 51:00 (8:30 pace), then ran 9 miles alone, looping up Goosenest, and averaged about 7:30 which was hard to do with the ice and snow, but felt pretty good.  My right ham is flaring up again.  Dr. Brady worked it really hard at my Monday appt, then I had lots of miles and speed yesterday, which probably didn't help.

No bathroom breaks at all during the run - a Christmas Eve miracle.

The treadmill KILLS my hams. Dr Brady had me up the incline to force me back onto my toes. So the hams are happy and the calves are crying again :) It's either happy calves or happy hams! (for me anyway) ;)

Ok, so I've eaten three or four pieces of yours since I have gotten home (ok one was in the car) and none of mine so that shows who the superior fudge maker is :) Yours is to die for (or at least to gain weight for).

Like you said- ONCE A YEAR!!! ;) There is NO more fudge making for 11.5 more months! Next year we should have a FRB fudge run.

That fudge is really good with Mounds candy bars instead of the Reese's. I like it with peppermint patties too. The Rolo's and the Snickers weren't great.

Yeah for the Christmas Eve miracle cause it was way too cold to need a potty break!!!

Merry Christmas, Michelle!
