Short-Term Running Goals:

keep running, stay fit and healthy, while having fun. Would like to get my mileage up to 25 miles a week and plan some short races when I get confident with my speed.

When I got off work this morning I wasn't terrinbly tired and it was nice and cool, but I somehow ended up going to bed instead of out for a run, BIG MISTAKE!!!!  When I got up I had to pay the piper!  I did 3 miles on the DREADmill and it was painful!!  I thought I would surely die before I finished and then I would get away with only 1-2 miles and get off easy. neadless to say I lived to tell about it and it was torture, I think I do this about once a month to remind myself why I don't run on the treadmill more often!

Well, you got through it. Tomorrow will be better.

I really liked re-reading all the Harry Potter books before I read book 7. It had been four years since I read the first four books.

Have you heard of the Pendragon series by MacHale? My students introduced it to me. I have enjoyed them. I was telling Lybi about the series on her blog and how I had to remind myself that the characters and stories weren't real. I am in the middle of book 8 and I just don't know how the good guys will win!

The series is different in that some of the chapters are journal entries--first person and the rest are in third person. Each book has it's story where Bobby Pendragon, the protagonist, saves a territory from being destroyed, but there is also a bigger story. The bigger story is unraveled bit by bit in each book. And in some books, Bobby doesn't save the territory--the bad guy wins. I like the surprising turns and twists the books takes--I can't predict much in these books.

I hope you enjoy your run tomorrow.

I agree with the DREADmill description. Good for you for getting out there. I'm excited that the temps here in Phoenix are finally cooling off, so I can get off the DREADmill!

My best friend is also a nurse and works the night shift, and I'm not sure when she runs! I'm impressed that you can go back and forth!
